★☆☆☆☆October 24, 2024 · review of Hopkins Air Conditioning
Technician that came told me the HVAC unit he came to repair was 12 years old, at end of life and needed $3-$4000 of repair work, and that I would be better off buying a new unit. Ultimately got it fixed elsewhere for a little over $1,000. In looking at the unit the Hopkins tech pulled out wires from both the unit and the thermostat and then left without reconnecting them. Very unprofessional. Addendum: I see that Hopkins has responded below. I have modified my review to reflect what was incorrect. In response to the rest, thankfully, we take photos too, and I am uploading two to show the way they left things:

Mr. McComiskey, Your claims are not true. We take pictures and notes on all calls. I reviewed your invoice from today visit. You threatened to leave a bad review because you was told the service call was $129 and we quoted you a diagnosis fee of $159. You wanted to argue with my tech over $30. Really? Keep in mind we left without charging you a dime and you still leave a bad review and point blank lie on top of it? The facts are the unit in question was a Lennox air handler with a serial number of 1612F05169 which indicates a 2012 Lennox unit which yes in fact is not in warranty. Your other unit right beside your Lennox unit is the 2017 Rheem unit that is cooling. We gave you an option to replace that Lennox blower motor out of warranty. You declined the price for repair and asked what a new unit cost. At no time did we push anything on you that is not how our process works here at Hopkins. Very disappointing you leave such a dishonest review and than have the nerve to threaten to leave a bad review to get out of paying a diagnosis fee. Any AC contractors reading this stay FAR AWAY.....
