They clean the Ac but , I think that maintains was very poor, I was thinking that they clean the out site unit with some type of acid and the inside too but not happen. They check the pressure and the refrigerant, and suction the drain line. Is not to bad for the price, but we hope more.

The labor cost alot than another company tech but if you go with the company, they don't make mistakes. Thats a guarantee. Their repair work is really good. Maintenance is also good. I hope they can do it a little cheaper for repair in future. Maintenance they charge correct rate though.
So, this is what happened. I called Hopkins after hours and scheduled tech came out and started inspecting the AC on my roof top. When he came down he told me AC motor is bad and capacitor is bad thats why your unit is turning on and off. And he changed the capacitor. Even though I didn't tell him to. But I was nice I said ok no problem. He said it is going to be $300 labor for just the capacitor after I said it is under warranty. Just being a good human I signed to pay it, even though he didn't tell me before replacing. He only had to inspect the unit and tell me the problem. Then he said he will change the AC motor tomorrow and it is going to cost $750 with 20% membership discount.
Tech also told me the unit will get you through the night but it was giving same problem turning on/off which it shouldn't if capacitor is changed. Then I recieved a text from Hopkins work is complete. I got angry that work is pending why it says complete. I texted back about it. He told me he will fix it tomorrow and it says complete because service visit was done. Its still not cooling. So I was like ok its still hot but I will let it go.
My friend who works on AC units has a company. He said estimate for replacing motor is only $300 labor. My neighbor got it done in $250 and didn't get ripped off.
So I called them to get price down and asked the lady on the phone for breakdown. She said getting the part which is in warranty from the company is $175. I told her I got a second quote of $300 labor. So i can give them $300 labor + $175 for getting the part. My neighbor got it done for $200, but I understand a company needs to pay expenses, subcontractors, etc. I work in an installation company so I know how things work. Believe me they pay their tech way less. Long story short, I told her I have been with Hopkins before they took over the company. She talked to manager and accepted my offer as a one time acceptance. So I was ok paying $475 (which should be $375, plus $100 for capacitor). Overall total cost should be $475. Instead I paid $300 capacitor + $475 motor = $775.
I am still with Hopkins though. I will give them another chance. And Last chance.
My unit is 5 years old. 2 years ago when First Air owned this company, pricing was reasonable. They said electricity fluctuations wouldn't damage my motor again. Funny coincidence: breakdown happened right after yearly maintenance. Same thing happened after 2 years with Hopkins—tech came for maintenance, AC broke down right after. Don't know if they jinx it or what, but this happened twice! If it happens a 3rd time and labor is 4-5x higher than normal, I will change company. $750 ($800 w/o discount 🤣) for a $200-$300 job is too expensive. Offer members 50% off and I'll give 5 stars—50% off is still charging double!
-1 star: tech not informing before changing capacitor & AC not working through night.
-1 star: overpriced & owner ripping off.
+1 star: satisfactory job next day & tech behavior.
+1 star: manager and lady giving discount.
+1 star: semi annual maintenance.
To whoever replies: Be respectful, I won't take any bullshit. I told exactly what happened. If you don't accept it you are ignorant. Respect customers or run out of business. You don't know which lengths an angry customer can go to. A bad experience customer specially finds you to give 1 star, but good experience won't bother. You request 20 and only 1 gives 5 stars. Fake reviews get tracked and Google flags them. Take reviews seriously and work on negative reviews.
(Attached quote is by First Air not Hopkins for review above.)

My Hopkins experience was all 5-Stars. The process from start to finish was excellent and left nothing to be desired. Their products and services are priced reasonably and they do clean installations. I definitely found my new air conditioning company...

Hopkins was and is my go-to AC CO. They have installed several units over the years as well as required maintenance. This last visit, a usual draining of clogged lines was a charge of $539.00. Two hundred over the past incurred charges. I believe this was exorbitant compared to competitors and Hopkins past charges.
I will contemplate a change of service.

The technician who came to my home did a good job and EVENTUALLY explained what was going on and answered my questions.

Unfortunately, the customer service experience leading up to the appointment was frustrating. This was essentially the same issue I had last year, so I had several reasonable questions: Was this covered under last year's warranty? What does my maintenance agreement actually cover? Why is this happening again only three months after my April maintenance? Most importantly, how can I prevent it from happening in the future?

I don't understand why it was so difficult to get answers to such basic questions. As a customer paying hundreds of dollars, I don't think it's unreasonable to want to understand why a recurring issue is happening, whether it's covered under warranty, what my maintenance agreement includes, and how to prevent it.

My biggest concern was simple: Am I expected to pay another $500 every summer for the same issue? I think anyone would want an answer to that before authorizing another expensive repair.

Instead, I repeatedly felt like I was being talked over or given excuses rather than straightforward answers by customer service. And received no follow up prior to my appointment when the customer service person told me she would ask her manager. Seems like you would want to take care of such matters beforehand so your customer isn't left holding the bag to explain to the tech and things can go more smoothly and efficiently.

The technician eventually answered my questions, but it shouldn't have taken that long to get basic information.

I was charged*$244 after a 50% discount, but after calling around I found that other companies charge around $220 at their regular price for the same service. Given this information, Hopkins pricing feels extremely expensive and overpriced. It especially doesn't feel like a good value considering I'm already paying for a maintenance agreement with the company.

Overall, I don't feel the service was worth the price I paid. While the technician did a good job, the poor communication, lack of transparency, high pricing, and limited warranty made this not the best customer experience. Customers deserves straightforward answers, fair pricing, and to feel like they're being understood. As soon as my contract is up, I won't be renewing.

AC stopped blowing cold air overnight, Hopkins was quick to find a Tech and send him out the next afternoon. Capacitor had failed. Cost was $500 after signing up for their maintenance program, to change a $40 part...seems rather excessive which is why it was not a 5-star rating. Morale of story, do your annual maintenance and hope your AC doesn't go out in the FL summer.

The technician was on time and did a professional job of routine maintenance on two units. Capacitors were identified as being weak. They were replaced under warranty. Good thing, otherwise $900 which is very high. Overall: good service but high prices.

Once again, very happy with Hopkins A/C and Ramniez 2, the A/C professional they sent. Quick appointment, great communication (texts and phone call to say he was on his way). He needed to replace the fuse, and explained that the electrical surges are the cause. He gave me some great advice regarding getting a surge protector for my electric. He was a real sweetheart Very pleased with Hopkins and Ramniez 2! A little costlier than I anticipated for a fuse, but done fast and right (and in my attic, which is likely worth the price alone).

Maintenance was good the only challenge was the $400 charge for a $20 Capacitor seems a little excessive

I meet with Colson on a Monday and my HVAC unit was installed on Wednesday. Colson was very professional knowledgeable, available and responsive to all of my questions and concerns. I received quotes from several different companies and they beat and exceeded my expectations. The great service didn’t just end with Colson, the HVAC installers arrived on time, explained everything pertaining to the job in details and walked me through the project every step of the way. The work area was left spotless. I was so impressed when the installer took the time to remove his shoes before entering inside my home. Hopkins air is the way to go for all of your HVAC needs.

The quality, efficiency, and care that went into completely replacing my AC was unbelievable. I signed for the replacement Saturday, and they were ready early Monday morning! The job required extra attention as they had to entirely disassemble the new air handler AND the old one in order to remove/install them from within the attic. I don’t know anything about installing AC units but I imagine my setup was a nightmare of a job. But Andres and his colleague handled it with grace and put on a masterclass in AC replacement. I genuinely can’t thank them enough. Seriously, if you need your AC repaired or replaced. Give Hopkins a call. Yeah … AC work always has an annoying price tag associated with it. But cheap AC isn’t good. And good AC isn’t cheap. With that said, they were flexible on some components and even threw in extra products and services for free. At the end of the day it's worth every penny. It’s quality equipment that was installed by highly skilled professionals. Overall a top notch experience - highly recommend!

I have been using Hopkins for air conditioning maintenance and repair for the past year and a half. I have never been disappointed in the service. The maintenance technician, Edoun, certainly appeared technically very skilled, and he was patient, courteous and cognizant of the cost in making recommendations to prolong the life of the 7 year old air conditioner, which I took. The price for the maintenance and addition of a booster was reasonable. I would highly recommend Hopkins.
